Some like it hot - why a visit to the Moser glassworks is addictive

We love good stories and fancied a tour at the company Moser in Karlsbad.

In this company, timeless crystal glass is produced. The founder Ludwig Moser inaugurated his company in Carlsbad in 1857. The city expanded and provided good opportunities to clever businessmen. Moser became a supplier of the famous Kaiser Franz Josef of Austria.

Until today, the traditional Moser Glashütte supplies the governors of Europe, Persia, and Asia with lead-free crystal. The brand is used in manors, diplomatic missions, and ministries all over the world. Moser produces editions for clients like the Queen of Britain. Moser's unique products can be found in exclusive stores around the world. They are also stars of international art expositions, and design contests in Tokyo, Dubai, and London.

Moser stayed successful because of his strategic brand management and high quality. The conviction of Moser Glashütte is perfection. The company dispenses all imperfect products. There is no trade-off. 70% of the products are recycled.

Our guide was great. We thank Moser Glashütte for this memorable experience.

HANDICRAFT

The artistic and craft skills are traditionally passed on from generation to generation. Often family members work together.

We were guided through the production and were very impressed.

UNIQUENESS

Every object of the Glashütte Moser is unique. This is due to the precision craftsmanship of glass manufacturers, cutters and engravers.

ART

An engraver at work. His apprenticeship has lasted 20 years AFTER the education had been finished.

Absolute precision and the famous "zero mistakes" principle are a must. There is no second chance for the engraver - each piece of glass is unique. A lot of the products are specific contract labour for an individual client.

Often, several months of patient work are spent on artistic engravings.

QUALITY

70% of the finished, cooled glasses are not used. They do not pass quality testing. The glass is recycled.

Needless to say that the quality process is also carried out by hand.

CRYSTAL

Only lead-free crystal can be used for cutting and engraving - working with this material is very demanding. The result has a unique sparkle.
